New classrooms to replace longstanding prefabs!
I am delighted to announce news from Joe McHugh TD, Minister for Education, of six new classrooms for Scoil San Treasa in Mount Merrion. In addition there will be a new lavatory facility for assisted users.
This announcement was made by Minister McHugh during a visit to Scoil San Treasa, following an invitation from my office. The new classrooms will replace existing prefabs and enhance the school’s Learning Support services.
The following will be provided:
• 4 mainstream classrooms to replace prefabs currently on site
• 1 further mainstream classroom to replace a small classroom which is being reconfigured for learning support teachers
• 1 further learning support classroom to supplement the existing accommodation for learning support purposes
• 1 toilet for assisted users
This is wonderful news for the whole school community in Scoil San Treasa. The school has long sought new classrooms to replace existing prefabs and for learning support needs. As a TD, I have arranged meetings between school representatives with both Minister Joe McHugh and his predecessor in the Department of Education, Minister Richard Bruton, so that the case for this investment could be made.
I want to congratulate the Principal Frances Mullin as well as members of the Board of Management, staff, parents, and students.
I will continue to campaign so that all our local schools can get the investment they need.
